We didn't start Flowstate in a boardroom. We started it in a gym.
We built Synergy 10 years ago — a women's-only gym in Derry — from the ground up. Between the two of us, we were doing everything: running ads, following up leads, managing bookings, chasing payments, posting content, replying to DMs at 11pm.
The business was growing, but we were drowning in the work behind the work. Every hour spent on admin was an hour not spent coaching, not spent with each other, not spent building something bigger.
We did what everyone does — outsourced, hired, delegated. Only to end up with a huge team to manage, huge overheads to pay, and not exactly the life we imagined.
So we started building systems. First it was automations — simple stuff like lead follow-up sequences and booking confirmations. Sara Harkin
Sara spent years building and running Synergy from the inside — managing teams, handling clients, overseeing operations, and learning firsthand what service-business owners actually need versus what agencies try to sell them.
She co-runs every part of Flowstate alongside Kevin — leading client strategy, shaping the systems we build, and making sure every piece of work delivers on what was promised. She's not in the background. She's in the room, making the calls, holding the standard.
